“Racing @ The Speed of Sound”

This song is totally pushed into the red.  It’s super loud and the most rocking song I’ve done so far.  This is the sound of me.  I wrote this for me.  I actually got emotional playing the solo.  I think I also became Scottish while doing the backup vocals (cf. “Bandwagonesque” by Teenage Fanclub)

Wow.  It’s over!

It’s been a long month.  There were numerous times when I wondered what the point of this exercise is.  I mean, a song a day… so what?  Why not one a week?

Sometimes I need to push myself to exhaustion to have a breakthrough.  This is an ideal exercise to break down my left brain so my right brain can get grooving.

Also, there have been some pesky patterns that I want to break.  I want to try to expand my scope so I can approach melody and lyrics in a different way.  I think I need to listen to more R&B, basically.  Get some syncopation.

But the great news is that I am VERY happy with all of these crazy songs.

I wish I could be more insightful at this point but I’m beat.

Thank you to everyone who tuned in.  Your support was so needed.  I couldn’t have done it without you.

Special thanks to Elizabeth Blue, Lucas Kavner, Alec Duffy, Molly Lloyd, Chris Grace and especially my brother Douglas York.

Played 40 times.
