“Monster Oh Monster”
I read a blog entry about Keith Olbermann, formerly of ESPN and MSNBC. Some former employee had grievances to air about his alleged behavior in the workplace. I never worked for the man and I don’t know if he wears those weird finger shoes and, frankly, I don’t care.
But it did get me thinking about working for difficult people. I’ve tended to work for folks who had their own kind of crazy going on but never for someone who was abusive.
Although, now that I remember it, my very first temp job in NYC was for a small real estate firm. I performed administrative tasks. Within ten minutes of my arrival one of the partners was standing over me and screaming because I couldn’t get Word Perfect to work. This was 1998 and even then Word Perfect was pretty outdated.
But the more I worked on the song, the more I realized the monster could be anything and tried to open it up a bit.
