I ain’t gonna lie: “Mr Wizard’s Daughter” damn near killed me. I got caught up trying to build a song entirely out of major sevenths. They are sophisticated chords. Jazz guys use them everyday like a toothbrush.
Is this the tightest piece of music in the world? No. Am I entirely happy with it? I have no idea. Truly. But it was, as they say, an experience.
And so it belongs to the ages.
